Also I like how this entire episode was just “hey this is technically the Galar season but we didn’t showcase a lot of Galar Pokemon, so let’s run through the whole set as fast as possible”

Serif Mango • 1 year ago

The anime creators acknowledged that sword and shield were bad games with a bare bone story. They wrapped the endynalos storyline in just two episodes.

Annecy Change • 1 year ago

Galar has lots of lore. Including crown tundra. We miss alot of good characters too. We never gonna see Gmax Pikachu again. Wtf with that. A Galar season would be much better than Jouraney. So much potential had been skip.

CraigOrangeSoda • 1 year ago

Sword and Shield shills coping the fact that their game is shit and saying anything to defend it to cope for their PURCHASE lmao

~Cpt_n3m0~ • 1 year ago

They could've done a lot with galar and gigantamax in the anime. It's an anime. The opportunities were endless. The whole region is really huge and well made. Too bad they decided to go with Journeys.

Shadow Moon • 1 year ago

They also could've done a lot with galar and gigantamax in the games.
hell, they could have done more megas as well. so much wasted potential with them....
i remember when dynamax was first announced and i was hyped to have battles between mega pokemon & kaiju pokemon... needless to say, that hype got killed and the rest was killed off by dexit and the way HOME holds pokemon hostage

Gangan • 1 year ago

Honestly it was so boring that Journeys is easily better than whatever formulaic series galar would have been.

Ovidiu Filipescu • 1 year ago

Hard to agree when Journeys is the worst Pokemon series to date

Shadow Moon • 1 year ago

if you exclude black & white which was the first time the games had a better story than the anime. only thing that part of the anime really did right was improve the team rocket trio into what they should be only to throw that out the window with their jet packs towards the end.
team plasma also got completely fucked over more so than any other main series evil team.

PhantomDR • 1 year ago

Best Wishes exists my man

PhantomDR • 1 year ago

and Alola garbage for that fact

Gangan • 1 year ago

Gigantamax was DOA from being too OP. it would have never been good.

I miss mega evolutions

Pokémon writer: Hey boss. Quick question - would it be great if the final league match Ash gets into is with a legendary Pokémon? You know, show how far he’s come and everything?

Pokémon director: Well, we tried that back in Sinnoh. Fans got angry at us because they thought giving Tobias a Darkrai and a Latios was a cheap way to make Ash lose to maintain the status quo. I mean, could you imagine if just before the final Masters fight we gave Leon a legendary?

Pokémon writer: uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Annecy Change • 1 year ago

Stop Ash of winning. Beat him with a Legendary pokemon. lol

Shadow Moon • 1 year ago

it wasn't cheap because it was a legendary (pikachu handled one of those on it's own while weakened during that very battle), it was because
1) he came out fucking nowhere with no build up and served no purpose but to knock ash out of the tournament.
2) dark void cheesing was the only thing that go tobias though the tournament. take away hos darkrai and he is nothing. well, not like he could pull a win like that anymore

Yas Tokyo Tanaka • 1 year ago

They should just gove Ash Ultra-Necrozma or Solgaleo or Giratina or Mewtwo to even the Playing Field

Sunaki Sama • 1 year ago

Or you know Ho Oh who is somewhit of a Guiding Figure for him?

thunderborn 32 • 1 year ago

but imagine giving ash ho-oh for his final team? wrap it up nicely

SirAkron • 1 year ago

Wdym ''giving''. It's not like Ash will actually be able to catch one, Ho oh isn't even something he can find in Galar right before his match.

Stefan Buruschkin • 1 year ago

To be fair, Leon's base Charizard was actually beating Eternatus until it used Eternamax. If he wants any chance of beating Leon, I feel like either Pikachu or Lucario should be capable of fighting on par with Eternatus.

Gangan • 1 year ago

Didn't ash had to fight legendary Tapu koko for alola finals.

Con D Oriano • 1 year ago

If Ash lose and start a new adventure again it would be ridiculous since he is now technically 2nd strongest trainer.

If Ash win it would be ridiculous I mean just look at Leon team if Ash win it would mean a big plot armor

Either way I think I not gonna be happy with the outcome, should have let Shirona win instead

Suiketsu Whitesands • 1 year ago

i mean its the Plot Armor measuring fight. It's up to whose PA is thicker.

Winterisreallycoming • 1 year ago

Or even better, Ash wins and become world champion. Next season starts, Ash lose to a new trainer who just got his first pokemon. Oh wait, they've done it before! Let's mix things up! The Trainer who just got his first pokemon and his first pokemon was injured, caught a plague that weakens it even further, but it proceeds to humiliates Pikachu with one arm fold behind its back!

Sunaki Sama • 1 year ago

They tryed to justify it by Pikachu beeing limited to Irontail and Quick Attack by Zekrom, but it was still a stupid Power Difference. Mike Tyson whit a Broken Arm is still a better Boxer then me.

Winterisreallycoming • 1 year ago

Even Zekrom nerfing Pikachu is a bullshit. The moment Pikachu hits the newbie mon, it should've imploded into a blackhole and destroyed everything in a 10 km radius or something!

Marktherapist • 1 year ago

A draw would be most ridiculous, I doubt they will make the most important match in whole Pokemon history a draw

Dande win is most likely, and yes Satoshi is technically 2nd strongest trainer, so as many had speculate, I think next generation Satoshi will no longer be protagonist. Perhaps they will featuring Goh, or a new main.

Satoshi win is what I hope, it would mean he will be the strongest trainer, the Pokemon Master, his 20 years dream. I would like to see our childhood mc achieve his dream just like some other mc

Annecy Change • 1 year ago

Ash always leave his old team aside from Pikachu. That how he reset each season.
And Pikachu is far from strong. I say when Pikachu get a new evolution or gimmic evolution. He can be Ash strongest Ace. But right now he not.

Gangan • 1 year ago

Journeys is different though. Only 2 in his roster are from galar. There is no formulaic pressure to make him abandon his roster such that he gets new PMs next gen.

Yas Tokyo Tanaka • 1 year ago

That crystal thing

SirAkron • 1 year ago

Plot armour over ash having a better team both stat wise and competitively? Tho this anime doesn't follow any of that logic, but Ash' team is better than Dande's, if anything Dande has plot armour, mf charizard taking full on thunders without as much as flinching. That thing gets ohko'd by a pikachu anyday of the week.

Gangan • 1 year ago

Ash defeated tapu koko, it won't be plot armor to see eternatus getting defeated, although it would make those dog legendaries pointless.

Divine demon GOD Aris • 1 year ago

that is true

Samoan Joseph • 1 year ago

Correction; Ash would be the second strongest Champion. Big difference than coming in second to Alain before. Who, I might add, was the only non-Champion. And it showed. I would be fine with Ash losing to Leon. But instead of starting over, I wish he'd actually do something with his improved status. Like finally become a Frontier Brain, or return to Alola to defend his title. I'd rather see his role in the series end with him more than just a random trainer that's not even close to becoming a Pokemon Master in any sense.
Yeah, I said it. He beat two leagues, but look how long it took him to get a Gengar. And he still needs the pre-evolved forms. Goh will catch em all before Ash ever does.

Serif Mango • 1 year ago

And then cry about Ash never winning. Ash needs to finally win the world champion and become a pokemon master. It becomes tiresome that he loses almost always. With your argument it was good that he never won a league before alola (ignore orange league and battle frontier). It was dumb to do that for so long. Gen 9 is a again a school story generation, this time more than Alola. Expect ash to enroll. I would prefer it if we got a time skip to gen 9, abandon Ash as main character and get a new one. Ash could be a strong side character who occasionally helps out and is the goal of the new main. That would be the best. Pokemon already got 25 seasons with over 1200 episodes. It's as bad as detective conan, which used to be one of my favorite shows, but can't watch it anymore as it is always similar cases with barely any plot progression.

allen davies • 1 year ago

personally i see it ending as a draw.

NuclearBernz • 1 year ago

Writer: Anyone remember Goh?
Director: "No..."
Writer: "K, time to write him out"

Silent_Soul_Ken • 1 year ago

17:56 We just had a super rare moment of seeing a wild pokemon do what they are supposed to do.

Caffeinated Milk • 1 year ago

"Will we see the biggest upset in history?"
Well people are definitely gonna be upset regardless lmao

Serif Mango • 1 year ago

The writers fucked themselves. Ash should win, however, his team should have been a mixture of his best pokemon, replacing pokemon with ones that can help him with the champs. Winning the world championship by only using his newest team is dumb (even if said team contains a pseudo legendary like dragonite, which ironically lost every time here). If Ash loses, it's also dumb because it's long time overdue that Ash becomes a Pokemon master. The writers keep showing that they never played the pokemon games and aren't really fans of it. They are just trying to make a children's story for10 year olds that brings the company the kaching. They are underestimating the intelligence of 10 year olds and even more than that, ignore that they have older fans.

ZainoN • 1 year ago

hope goh won't appear next region, i don't even care if ash is still the mc or not.

Superb Villain Veigar • 1 year ago

One can hope, also lets pray other companions dont copy Go with instant capture...

Hade ni Ikuze • 1 year ago

This episode was clearly used to showcase as many Galar Pokemon as possible. Honestly, it was kind of hilarious.

Fallen God • 1 year ago

Welp RIP Ashy-boy he got betrayed Goh just lowered even more his chances of winning

Darkred Emperor • 1 year ago

This episode was kind of surprising, Goh left Ash to follow his own dream and a legendary on Leon hands.

From the start of the tournament I was very doubtful about Ash chances to win against Leon, but now a victory is basically impossible considering the portrayal of Leon power as a Champion.

I also don't see any point in having Ash start on a new region considering the accomplishments he got on this season, win or lose he is already of higher rank than all of the champions he admired.
To me Ash is already a Pokemon Master.

SirAkron • 1 year ago

Agreed, he's literally rank 2 in the world right now even if he loses, but we all know if he does lose and he'll move to whatever region scarlet and violet are, he'll just be nerfed again and lose to ppl that haven't even gotten a badge.

Gangan • 1 year ago

I think the project mew summon is to make the members witness eternatus in a fight in ash vs leon

Divine demon GOD Aris • 1 year ago

project mew will steal eternatus

theultimategamer95 • 1 year ago

Damn, loved this ep more than I thought I would! The reunion was adorbs, and yay for finally seeing Wooloo and Cramorant in action in the anime! Wish we got to see more of Team Rocket getting serious with vending in the past after this too, ngl. That all said though...

...now we have to wait ANOTHER two weeks for the first episode of the finals, YAAAAAAAAAAY!

The padding is insane here, jfc. And to top it off, I've heared rumours of there being like 10 more eps after the finals of the tourney, lmao (however long the finals is even gonna be). Supposedly all on Gou and Project Mew btw.
